The Dog House

This website is dedicated to a couple of incredible mutts, Flick and Mojo. Take the tour with "Flick" as your guide, see the world through her eyes. She'll explain how she came to be and also introduce you to her loveable best friend, "Mojo". Check in from time to time to see whats new in their little lives. "Flick" will show you photos of them, their family and friends. You can also enjoy some of her writings and observations in her dog blog. Enjoy!

I used to live with an elderly person. She abused me, so I escaped 4 1/2 years ago to live on my own. I met a friend on the street and we hung out seeing the sites and taking a tour of Music City. We were, well...basically strays until we met a nice lady named Marla. She convinced us to go home with her. We were nervous but excited to go on a new adventure. Marla had a man named Keith and two dogs of her own named "Maggie" and "Morgan". They had a big warm house and we had two new buds to play with. Keith named us Shania and Shakira, I didn't mind, I only kept that name for a few weeks, because Marla and Keith couldn't have us. She introduced us to her friends and My Masters Todd and Stacy. They picked me and re-named me "Flick" and my friend Shakira went home with the Raifords and got a new name too..."Sniffy".

When I was 4 Todd and Stacy brought Mojo home, he was 12 weeks old. They adopted him from Todd's aunt Shirley. They took him from his 5 brothers and sisters. personally I didn't think that was very nice, but they said he would be better off living with us.Truth be told, My masters claimed they brought "Mo" home for me. At one time we lived on 10 acres, I had lots of land to explore. We moved to a small urban neighborhood and I was upset about the size of my yard. They brought the 'lil guy so I could have someone to hang out with. At first I wasn't happy that Mojo was here, but he has since grown on me and is now my best friend.

Well, I am named after a celebrity of sorts. Master Todd's favorite movie is "A Christmas Story", you know the one with Ralphie and the BB gun. His favorite character in the film was the kid who stuck his tongue to the flag pole...and his name was "Flick". Todd had always wanted to name his first dog "Flick", so there's that :-)

Mojo's name was supposed to be "Jimmy" all along. Todd is a huge Seinfeld fan and one of his favorite episodes is when Jerry, George and Kramer play basketball with a guy who talks in the third person, referring to himself by name...Jimmy shoots, Jimmy scores. Yeah I know my master is weird! At one point the name "Rick James" was chosen. For some reason they wanted to go outside and yell for "Rick James". The name "Mojo" came from a trip to Toledo, Ohio to a friend's wedding where they found a great radio station called "Mojo 97" and the rest is history.

Aside from from eating organic food and sleeping 18 hours a day, we have list of other things we like to do. Here goes;

*Digging in the dirt

*Chasing each other

*Sun bathing

*Chewing plastic toys

*Catching the frisbee

*Chasing squirrels, cats and an opossum named Jimmy who lives under the neighbor's house.

Master Todd is a Photographer from Southern West Virginia. He moved here from Pittsburgh, PA where he attended the Art Institute of Pittsburgh and worked for the Associated Press shooting Professional Hockey and Major League baseball games.

Stacy is studying to be a lawyer. She moved here from NYC where she worked for a financial services firm in the World Trade Center. She is from West Palm Beach Florida and a graduate of the University of Florida.
